Regensburg, May 20, 2021. Taking the International Diversity Day (tomorrow) as an occasion, Vitesco Technologies has signed the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The company, headquartered in Regensburg and a leading international provider of modern drive technologies and electrification solutions, is thus underpinning its commitment to gender equality and the strengthening of the role of women in the workplace and in the community.
“We congratulate Vitesco Technologies on taking the first step on their WEPs journey,” explains Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, executive director of UN Women: “We see Vitesco Technologies as an important partner when it comes to closing gender discrepancies – not only in the workplace and in the market but also in society.” The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) of the United Nations are based on international labor standards and human rights, as well as the recognition that companies play an important role in promoting gender equality and strengthening the role of women.
In this context, Vitesco Technologies recently also signed the “Diversity Charter”: A fundamental commitment to the economic and social benefits of diversity and tolerance, fairness and appreciation in the world of work and society. In order to strengthen our awareness of the importance of diversity in the workforce, Vitesco Technologies is currently hosting the “Diversity Month” with various campaigns and workshops on the topic, closely associated with its own corporate values: Passionate, Partnering and Pioneering.
